Natasha Trethewey read her poetry to a full and happy theatre at the 2016 Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference. Her work has appeared in NER numerous times, as early as 20.2 and as recently as 35.3.
Trethewey served two terms as the 19th United States Poet Laureate, from 2012 to 2014. She won the 2007 Pulitzer Prize in Poetry for her collection Native Guard and served as Poet Laureate of Mississippi from 2012 to 2016. She is the author of four books of poetry, most recently Thrall (2014).
